Why are you running for Lakeville City Council?
I grew up in Lakeville in the 90s. I left for a bit in my twenties, but came back in 2011 to raise a family. Family means everything to me. Their well-being, education and quality of life is the motivation behind everything I do.
Like many others, I was drawn to Lakeville because it is great place to raise a family. Lakeville is known for its great schools and parks. But Lakeville is changing. The city has grown 30% over the last 10 years. As the demographic of Lakeville evolves and changes, I want to ensure that ALL families have a voice and place at the table on what that growth looks like.
We need more than just residential homes in Lakeville. For years, the priority has been to build single family homes. It is time we re-shift our priorities back into the community to make sure our school systems, infastructure and community spaces are prepared to support the plans for growth. We need spaces for youth to connect and play. We need to protect our parks and green spaces. We need to attract unique small business that encourage people to visit and stay in our city.
Lakeville is a beautiful city and I have seen it mature throughout the years I’ve lived here. Thoughtful growth, mindful collaboration and empathy in action is what I will bring to City Council seat.
